What's better than a slice of pizza? Check out these startups trying to make the process of making and ordering a pizza cheaper, faster, and more convenient.

There is not just one way to develop a pizza-making robot.

Some companies are trying their hand at making pizza vending machines, while others are using collaborative robots to make fully automated kitchens.

And still others are developing automated kitchens in a space equivalent to a shipping container.

While it may not be a crowded space, there are plenty of startups trying to crack the code and develop the next big innovation in pizza making.

Many conversations around automation tend to focus on warehouses and manufacturing facilities, but the restaurant industry is also investing in the technology.

From fast food and “ghost kitchens” to high-end eateries, school cafeterias to hospitals and airports, the number of chains and locations that could use cooking and service robots is impressive.

The global food automation market is estimated to be worth $29.4 billion by 2027, according to Meticulous Research.
