From Carnegie Mellon University and MIT to Georgia Tech and Stanford, here are a few universities in the U.S. that stand above the rest when it comes to robotics education.

As the world becomes more and more automated, there will continue to be a need for engineers who understand how those systems work and drive progress.

Universities are preparing the next generation of workers through their rigorous academic programs. In the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) world, there is no shortage of well-regarded institutions, but some are better equipped for certain subjects than others.

In robotics, students are looking for schools that will give them access to state-of-the-art facilities where they can get their hands on some automated systems.

They are also looking for courses that will challenge them and give them the knowledge they need to enter the industry well-informed.

“In 2020-2021, robotics engineering was the 230th most popular major nationwide with 1,243 degrees awarded. This is a difference of 168 over the prior year, a growth of 13.5,” reads an excerpt from a report from higher education site College Factual.

Great universities do more than teach, they help bring positive change

We at Robotics 24/7 wanted to highlight a few of the top robotics universities in the country. These schools stand up against the rest for their dedicated focus on automated systems and the underlying technology that make them work.

They offer robotics centers and networking opportunities and are actively engaged in research to help move the industry forward.

These schools are most likely familiar to anyone who is paying attention to the industry.

They are located throughout the country in states such as California, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, and Massachusetts, and have among the lowest acceptance rates.
