Doosan Robotics, which launched in 2015 and provides cobots and service robots, is expanding in the Americas with new U.S. headquarters and general manager.

Doosan Robotics Inc., a leading manufacturer of service and collaborative robots, today announced a new business unit, Doosan Robotics Americas. The Suwon, South Korea-based company established its U.S. headquarters in Plano, Texas.

Founded in 1896, Doosan Group has 25 affiliates and 114 global entities worldwide, generating a revenue of $15 billion (U.S.) in 2020. The group established Doosan Robotics in 2015 to create technology for the next generation of manufacturing.

The company said it has become one of the largest robotics manufacturers and providers in the world. It recently launched the NINA (“New Inspiration, New Angle”) camera robot. The system received a CES Innovation Award honoring outstanding consumer technology products at CES 2022.

Doosan’s U.S. customer base includes leading organizations across automotive, manufacturing, warehouse and logistics, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, construction, and packaging.

Doosan Robotics said its expansion in the U.S. market will increase customer awareness, accelerate business development, and provide specific industry support.

“The formation of Doosan Robotics Americas will provide a team dedicated to North and South America, which is a source of many existing and potential customers across several vertical markets from automotive to manufacturing,” said Lee. “With the U.S. being the single largest market for Doosan Robotics, I’m looking forward to working even closer with our partners as we prepare for several exciting new developments in our product offerings.”

Doosan Robotics will be exhibiting at Booth 4123 at Automate 2022 this week in Detroit.

Doosan Robotics North America's Alex Lee spoke with IAS recently about introducing Doosan's three lines of collaborative robots (Cobots) into the North American Market. Alex talks about Doosan's plans for the future, as well as how cobots figure into our futures as well.
