Flexiv Partners With Infinity Robotics to Continue U.S. Expansion

Infinity Robotics will install Flexiv's adaptive robots in and around Minnesota.

Flexiv said it combines computer vision, force control, and AI for a wide range of applications.
Flexiv, which builds adaptive robots using force control, computer vision, and AI, is working with integrator Infinity Robotics in Minnesota.

Flexiv, which claimed to be “the world's leading general-purpose robotics company,” last week said it had partnered with integrator Infinity Robotics. The companies said they will help customers maximize production efficiency with Flexiv's range of adaptive robots.

“The timing of our partnership with Infinity Robotics couldn’t be better; both companies are growing rapidly with year-on-year growth,” stated Daire Kullar, regional sales and business development manager at Flexiv. “When I first met the talented and passionate in-house employees, I knew this was a team we would gel well with.”

Founded in 2016, Flexiv develops and manufactures collaborative robot systems integrating industrial-grade force control, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company has established offices in Silicon Valley, Taiwan, and Singapore, as well as Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Foshan in China.

It raised $100 million in Series B+ funding in June. Flexiv also recently partnered with TickTek for indoor agriculture.

Adaptive robots the solution to labor woes, says Flexiv

With an ongoing labor shortage in North America, manufacturers need to upgrade their operations with automation, asserted Flexiv. The company said its collaborative and adaptive systems are capable of the dull, dirty, and dangerous jobs that human workers don’t want to do. It added that its robots can significantly improve a business’s productivity and efficiency.

Flexiv and Infinity Robotics said their collaboration agreement “demonstrates the drive of both companies to develop the North American automation sector.”

The partners said they hope to build new relationships with customers looking to upgrade their machine tending, material handling, palletizing, surface treatment, and precision handling capabilities.

Infinity Robotics integrates into multiple industries

With more than 10 years of experience in the distribution and manufacturing of automated control systems, Infinity Robotics said it provides innovative and customizable manufacturing systems to its customers in and around Minnesota.

The Savage, Minn.-based company said that it specializes in the sale of robots and automation equipment and that it can integrate cobots, computer vision systems, and customized automation into any industry.

“We are excited to be the Midwest Integrator and Distributor of Flexiv’s force-controlled adaptive robots,” said Dave Neville, co-founder and president of Infinity Robotics.

“Flexiv’s Rizon series is a massive step up in technology from the traditional cobots currently on the market. With seven degrees of freedom and built-in force feedback, we can solve complex automation problems right out of the box.”

Infinity Robotics provides automation planning and integration services.
