Geek+ Teams Up with Starlinks to Open Robotic Fulfillment Center in Saudi Arabia

Geek+ and Starlinks said they see major market potential in the Middle East.

Geek+'s robots are being used in a new robotic fulfillment center in Saudi Arabia.

Starlinks, a Dammam, Saudi Arabia-based logistics and supply chain provider, has partnered with Geekplus Technology Co. to open a new robotic fulfillment center in Saudi Arabia.

The 400,000 sq. ft. facility features over 250 Geek+ robots and has a storage capacity of 12 million units.

Starlinks said it has more 60 customers including big names such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, OpenCart, Amazon and eBay. It added that it provides “a hybrid picking solution that allows humans and machines to co-deliver a world-class efficiency manual picking operation.”

Geek+ robots are picking 3.6 million units per month at facility

Geek+ develops robotic systems designed for warehouse use. The autonomous mobile robot maker is based out of Beijing. Geek+ said two of its systems are being used at the facility and are processing 3.6 million orders per month. The facility is using the P40 Picking mobile robot, the S20C Sorting mobile robot, and RS8 RoboShuttle mobile robot. 

“Our new solution comprises a pallet storage and handling storage system, a manual pick tower as well as a robotics solution allowing us to cater to a wide range of customer requirements and operations complemented by micro fulfillment centres distributed strategically across Saudi Arabia,” said Salah Taha, director of operations at Starlinks, in a statement.

“Advanced automation and big data analytics enable us to better track and manage inventory, predict demand, and optimize routes for transportation thus helping us to increase efficiency, reduce operating cost and provide seamless services to our customers,” Taha added. “We are committed to driving further innovation in the logistics and supply chain industry in the region and reducing lead time to e-commerce shoppers.”
