HAI Robotics to Launch Third Warehouse Automation Project With Anta

HAI Robotics says its latest autonomous case-handling robot deployment with Anta in China marks its continued success in footwear and apparel.

HAI Robotics yesterday announced that it will provide autonomous totes-to-person systems in Anta Sports Products Ltd.'s new warehouse in southern China. The robotics supplier and the apparel company said it is their third collaboration to date.

As an official sponsor of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games and Paralympics, Anta said it has experienced surging sales, putting warehouse logistics under mounting pressure. The company, which claimed to be one of the top three sportswear brands in the world, held its logistics partnership conference last week at its Jinjiang headquarters in China's Fujian Province.

Anta named HAI Robotics “best strategic supplier” at the conference. “Anta sees HAI Robotics as an important long-term partner, as we have shared ambitions in smart warehousing,” said Chen Jiancong, general manager of logistics at Anta Group.

Anta improves efficiency with HAIPICK

HAI Robotics first deployed its autonomous case-handling robots (ACR) in Anta's warehouse in Chengdu, in China's southwestern Sichuan Province, in April 2021.

The facility has 25 customized HAIPICK robots doing case picking and retrieving from shelves to continuously feed goods-to-person picking stations. The systems increased the storage density of the 5.7-meter-high (18.7 ft.) warehouse to offer up to 27,600 locations. The facility can handle up to 80,000 units in outbound orders per day, said Anta.

Anta's warehouse previously struggled to handle tens of thousands of SKUs at low picking accuracy. It is now feeding the needs from 1,200 brick-and-mortar stores with a weekly outbound volume of 60,000 pieces, said HAI Robotics.

That improvement in efficiency led the retailer to initiate a second project with HAI Robotics only three months later. A larger robot fleet was stationed in its 3,500-sq.-m (37,673.6-sq.-ft.) warehouse in Jinjiang.

With the redesign of 11-layer shelves inside the warehouse, the project provides about 20,000 storage locations, said HAI Robotics. The warehouse reached a daily outbound capacity of 200,000 pieces by using the HAIPORT-powered Workstation, an automatic loading and unloading machine.

HAI Robotics expects to boost apparel throughput

HAI Robotics said the latest project, to be launched in April in Anta's new warehouse in the city of Foshan in Guangdong Province, markes its continued success in warehouse automation and in the footwear and apparel sector in particular. The company said it has dozens of ongoing projects in that sector.

The ACR system will enable the 9-m-high (29.5 ft.) warehouse to increase storage density to offer up to 30,240 locations, with daily throughput of 128,000 units, said HAI Robotics.

Anta is one of the company's 10 most important global clients, said Richie Chen, founder and CEO of HAI Robotics. “Together, we will keep innovating to address more challenging scenarios for the footwear and apparel warehousing sector and bring more added value to our customers,” Chen said.

Founded in 2016, HAI Robotics said it has more than 1,300 team members and more than 600 global patents for intellectual properties involving positioning, robot control, and warehouse management. The Shenzhen, China-based company has subsidiaries in the U.S., Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the U.K., and the Netherlands serving customers in more than 30 countries and regions.

Hurun Research Institute named HAI Robotics a global artificial intellience “unicorn” in its rankings last year.
