Sourcing robots can be difficult. With thousands of technologies and vendors to choose from, it is often complicated for businesses to find the right fit at a fair price. HowToRobot.com today said it is launching its platform in the U.S. to enable buyers to get offers from suppliers. Prospective users and integrators can get a broad overview and test market pricing before investing in automation, according to Frederiksberg, Denmark-based HowToRobot.com.
“Businesses are looking to find multiple solutions to their automation needs,” said Thomas Anzur, chief sales officer of HowToRobot.com. “HowToRobot is aiming to break down geographic borders and connect buyers and sellers around the globe – opening new markets for robotics sellers and increasing options for buyers.
“Our global marketplace is helping robotics buyers increase their options and drive down costs when purchasing industrial automation solutions,” he added. “Using our marketplace, buyers can anonymously broadcast their automation needs to suppliers globally in less than 15 minutes – for free.”
Finding the right robot fit
Traditionally, businesses have had to identify and contact robotics suppliers one by one when they needed a new solution, “a slow and frustrating proces,” said Anzur.
With HowToRobot.com, a buyer describes only the task it wants to automate one time. The platform then matches the buyer with suppliers that then send proposals.
“It is a fast and effective way to source robots,” Anzur said. “Not only are you able to compare prices; you also get more options to pick from and spend less time searching for suppliers.”
Businesses can also get quotes on aftermarket parts, components, and services for their existing robots and automation solutions on the platform.
Marketplace connects robot buyers and suppliers globally
More than 100 projects worth over $50 million (U.S.) in total were posted on HowToRobot.com in just two months. Launched in 2020, HowToRobot.com claimed to be “the world’s largest marketplace for industrial robots and automation technology and services,” with more than 16,000 suppliers today.
For suppliers, the marketplace offers a global window to the growing number of businesses looking for collaborative, mobile, industrial, and service robots, said the company.
“We are constantly adding new suppliers to our platform and encourage U.S.-based businesses to join our global community,” Anzur said.
