Based on its recent analysis of the North American goods-to-person robotics industry, ;Frost & Sullivan this week recognized inVia Robotics with the 2022 Technology Innovation Leadership Award for creating an autonomous picking system. inVia offers it through a robotics-as-a-service, or RaaS, model and claimed that it can boost warehouse management performance while reducing production costs.
“inVia Robotics offers automation solutions that are a unique combination of autonomous mobile robots [AMRs], powerful AI-driven optimization software, and a full-service robotics operations center (ROC),” stated Sankara Narayanan, an industry principal at Frost & Sullivan.
“inVia's true RaaS business model is appealing to customers because the company does not lease or sell robots but instead sells the productivity of the robots and systems,” he added. “The company bills customers based only on each robot's productivity and not for the robot itself.”

Since 2015, inVia Robotics said it has been delivering warehouse automation and services for global distribution centers. The Westlake Village, Calif.-based company noted that it offers agile robots and intuitive and flexible optimization software based on artificial intelligence.
inVia also provides around-the-clock dynamic monitoring that it claimed can improve warehouse productivity by creating streamlined workflows. With its RaaS model, the company said it delivers autonomous robots and customizable software to meet clients' specific needs, without incurring extra costs.
inVia's flagship product, Picker Wall, is designed to help companies deal with the ever-increasing volume of orders in warehouses. It uses the company's technology and engineering expertise with using robots for picking and sorting.
Picker Wall can optimize production and enable workers to focus on higher-value responsibilities, eliminating time-consuming and repetitive tasks, said the company.
inVia credited its efficient robots and innovative technology for 300% in revenue. It has positioned itself as a “disruptive” supplier in the goods-to-person robotics market.
Frost & Sullivan recognizes tech innovations
Each year, Frost & Sullivan said it presents the North American Technology Innovation Leadership Award to the company that has developed a product with innovative features and functionality that is gaining rapid acceptance in the market. The award recognizes the quality of the solution and the customer value enhancements it enables, the analyst firm explained.
“inVia's Picker Wall generates high productivity rates and maximum efficiency in warehouse picking operations because robots work independently of workers,” noted Narayanan. “Even if workers take 15-minute breaks, robots continue placing orders and moving ordered goods to the front of the warehouse.”
