Startup pitch competitions have become a feature of numerous technology events, as companies hope to be matched with investors. Lucid Drone Technologies Inc. last week announced that it will be among the startups chosen from more than 450 applicants to present at Venture Atlanta FORWARD 2022. Lucid Drone makes industrial spray drones designed as a safer, faster, and smarter alternative to labor-intensive jobs.

“We are proud to be selected as a Venture Atlanta 2022 presenting company,” said Andrew Ashur, co-founder and CEO of Lucid Drone Technologies. “Being selected is a testament to the hard work of our team. We look forward to sharing our story and vision to become the go-to provider for responsible robotics that enable people to live better lives!”

Founded in 2018, Lucid Drone Technologies has developed and distributed aerial drones nationwide for soft washing and window cleaning. The Charlotte, N.C.-based company said it plans to expand into other markets.

C1 Spraying Drone can reduce injuries

Each year in the U.S., more than 500,000 people are treated at the hospital from ladder-related injuries, and 61 people lost their lives in 2020 from this type of accident, said Lucid Drone.

The company claimed that its purpose-built spray drones have reduced job-site injuries by 95% on average. Lucid Drone said its C1 Spraying Drone and Window Washing Payload are cutting-edge cleaning tools for facility managers and building owners.

The spray drone is equipped with a remote control and sensors that allow users to navigate tight spaces and identify areas that need cleaning while keeping workers safely on the ground. The drone then uses soft washing technology to wash the area.

This technology can save a significant amount of time and money by providing a more efficient and effective process, according to Lucid Drone. In addition, the cleaning system can o reach heights of 110 ft., spray up to 300 psi, and wash up to five times faster than traditional methods, said the company.

“At Lucid Drone Technologies, we are committed to providing robotic solutions that allow our customers to complete jobs that were once dull, dirty, and dangerous in a safer, faster, and smarter way,” said Ashur.

Lucid Drone today announcedy that it will exhibit at the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) World Workplace conference and exposition at Booth 228 at Music City Center in Nashville on Sept. 28 and 29.

Venture Atlanta boasts record of successful exits

For 15 years, the annual Venture Atlanta conference has selected promising technology companies in the U.S. Southeast and brought in investment firms from across the U.S. to hear them pitch. The organization claimed that it has helped launch more than 700 startups and raised $6.5 billion in funding to date, spinning out $17 billion in successful exits.

Venture Atlanta is a collaboration of the Atlanta CEO Council, Metro Atlanta Chamber, and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). The annual nonprofit event is intended to help the region’s top entrepreneurs raise the capital they need to grow their businesses.

Venture Atlanta said its successful alumni include CallRail, Car360, Flock Safety, Florence Healthcare, Kabbage, ParkMobile, Pindrop Security, Salesforce Pardot, Salesloft, SingleOps, Stax, and Terminus.

Lucid Drone to join regional leaders

As in previous years, Venture Atlanta said it anticipates FORWARD 2022 to be sold out, with more 1,200 entrepreneurs, founders, investors, and business leaders expected to attend from Oct. 19 through 20. This year's event will be at a new venue—the Woodruff Arts Center at 1280 Peachtree Street—reflecting the growing intersection of art and technology, said the event organizers.

“Venture Atlanta has established itself as the authority for recognizing technology innovation across the Southeast and beyond, connecting the best and brightest innovators with top-tier, national investors and other leaders in the tech ecosystem,” stated Allyson Eman, CEO of Venture Atlanta.

“With an impressive slate of 87 presenting and showcase companies, a record number of sponsors, and a brand-new venue, we’re continuing to raise the bar for what will be our 15th anniversary event,” she said.

Lucid Drone said its system can now clean windows and leave them better than if they were cleaned by hand.
