Nautikaris will provide Microdrones equipment for lidar, photogrammetry, and gas detection as it offers drones as a service in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxbemburg.

Nautikaris last week partnered with Microdrones to distribute drone surveying equipment throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxemburg, or the Benelux region. Nautikaris added that it will now be able to supply its customers with lidar, photogrammetry, and gas-detection systems.

“Nautikaris has been in business for over 50 years, and we understand it’s important to offer more than just the technology, products, and software,” said Don Schouten, account manager at Nautikaris. “In times where everything can be bought online, we provide the intangible assets on which our clients rely: service, cooperation and a customer-focused business relationship.”

IJmuiden, Netherlands-based Nautikaris supplies hydrographic and oceanographic, meterological, telemetry, and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning products and services. It also rents acoustic real-time 3D imaging systems, subsea communiations, underwater connectors, data collectors, and other equipment. The company said its customers rely it for high-quality products, ease of use, and a flexible and professional support team.

Nautikaris to offer Microdrones as a service

Schouten said that Nautikaris decided to sign on as a distributor because Microdrones provides integrated systems with high-quality sensors, as well as a full-service solution including drones, software, data processing and support. He added that “Microdrones as a service” or mdaaS sales model, similar to robotics as a service (RaaS), makes drone surveying more affordable.

“The Microdrones-as-a-Service sales model is the future for our customers,” said Schouten. “In an ever-changing world, we see a shift towards people not buying equipment in a traditional manner, but rather paying for a service.”

“This helps them manage costs, anticipate usage, and charge accordingly,” he said. “MdaaS empowers customers to deploy the full hardware and software solution as a service which includes mdInfinity, packaged with either the purchase or rental of survey equipment.”

Founded in 2001, Microdrones has offices in Siegen, Germany, and Rome, N.Y., among other locations. The company said it has more than 260 employees and a sales, support, and distribution network across six continents. It recently announced Gulf Testing Solutions Enterprise LLC as an authorized distributor in the Sultanate of Oman.

“Nautikaris wanted to grow their surveying and drone business,” explained Samuel Flick, the sales manager for Central Europe at Microdrones. “We offer them the flexibility to rent or buy systems through Microdrones as a Service, which also helps them keep up with the evolution of the technology. It’s a win for both Nautikaris and their customers.”

When you offer your customers Microdrones products, you are offering a fully integrated technology solution that helps them to innovate, to stand out from competitors, to work more safely and efficiently and to collect and use data in a more valuable way.
