Mobile robot maker Geekplus Technology Co. announced this week that it has partnered with software developer and warehouse automation systems integrator Numina Group. It has begun offering Geek+’s robots as part of its goods-to-person systems.

Chicago-based Numina Group said it decided to work with Geek+ to maximize picking productivity and profitability at one of its client’s growing sporting goods fulfillment operations.

The online sports retailer now benefits from Geek+'s goods-to-person (G2P) technology with a fleet of P800 picking robots to automate picking and put away from 50,000 warehouse storage shelf positions.

“We are very pleased to have partnered with The Numina Group,” said Randy Randolph, vice president of channels and partnerships at Geekplus Americas. “They have an excellent reputation with over three decades of experience automating warehouse operations, and we are delighted to see that they have already started using Geekplus technology to create effective, modern supply chain solutions.”

Numina Group ready for more automation

Dan Hanrahan, president of Numina Group, said his company was excited to work with Geek+.

“The warehouse automation system—underway at the client's 70,000 SKU sporting goods distribution firm—is an excellent example of how Numina Group's warehouse automation software can seamlessly integrate Geek+'s AI-powered G2P technology to deliver a software driven, cutting-edge technology solution that equips retailers and e-tailers with faster and more accurate order fulfillment,” he said.

The partnering agreement allows Numina to bring Geek+'s advanced robotics to companies throughout North America, providing them with the right technologies that maximize customer satisfaction by increasing same-day and peak order shipment capacity.

With access to Geekplus's offerings, Numina said it can provide multiple industries, including e-commerce, food and beverage, healthcare, 3PL, and consumer goods, the benefits obtained from advanced robotic solutions to lower operating costs, remove labor intensive work tasks, while improving warehouse space utilization.

Geek+ raises $100M in Series E

The news comes a few days after Beijing-based Geek+ closed a $100 million Series E funding round.

“Thanks to the successful implementation of our global business strategy, the transformative value of our products, and the surge of the smart logistics market, Geek+ is well-positioned to further capture the outsized growth opportunities,” stated Yong Zheng, founder and CEO of Geek+. “Geek+ has passed the stage of simply pursuing scale and is now moving towards the stage of commercial success with profitability and positive cash flow.”

The company said it plans to use the money to continue its global expansion efforts and for AMR research and development.
