enVista Corp., which provides software, managed services, and automation for physical and digital commerce, today announced that it has acquired longtime partner HCM Systems Inc., a systems integrator specializing in conveyor hardware and software, controls, robots, and accessories for manufacturers and distributors. Terms were not disclosed, and the acquisition took effect on July 1.
“Demand for automated solutions has never been greater due to surging ecommerce demands, coupled with ongoing labor shortages,” stated Mike Kasperski, senior vice president of automation at enVista. “enVista and HCM’s combined expertise across process optimization, labor management, facility design, engineering, robotics and systems selection and implementation will optimize manufacturing and distribution operations and accelerate time to value.”
“This acquisition also strategically expands HCM’s and enVista’s global growth, client base, and revenue opportunities,” he said.
enVista focuses on DC design, optimization
Carmel, Ind.-based enVista said its unified commerce platform, Enspire Commerce, and its ability to consult, implement, and operate across supply chain, transportation, IT, enterprise business systems and omnichannel commerce can help mid-market and Fortune 100/5,000 companies.
The company added that its distribution center (DC) optimization and automation offerings include process optimization, workforce management, facility design/build, engineering, robotics proofs-of-concept and implementations, systems selection and implementation, and more.
enVista said its team of robotics, labor management, facility design, and systems implementation experts can help clients project and model an optimal approach to both DC labor productivity and automation. With nearly 20 years of experience in supply chain strategy, operations and systems implementation, enVista said it has helped dozens of world-leading brands optimize existing facilities and design/build greenfield facilities to meet long-term objectives.

HCM integrates warehouse systems
HCM Systems said it has evolved from a single-line conveyor distributorship into a respected and diversified leader in integrating an extensive range of materials handling automation.
The Chicago-based company claimed that its core competencies involve conveyors, conveyor control, warehouse control system to warehouse management system (WCS-to-WMS) data processing, high-speed pick-and-pack applications, palletizing systems, end-of-line packaging systems, and bar-code scanning.
