OPEX Corp. said it plans to showcase its technology at the CeMAT Australia intralogistics and materials handling trade show later this month.
OPEX automation experts will discuss the capabilities of Perfect Pick, its robotic goods-to-person picking system, and Sure Sort, its robotic sorting system. In addition, it will share information on the new Infinity automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS).
The company is headquartered in Moorestown, N.J., and has facilities in Pennsauken, N.J.; Plano, Texas; France; Germany; Switzerland; the U.K.; and Australia. OPEX has more than 1,600 employees.
OPEX offers efficiencies worldwide
Perfect Pick is an ASRS for e-commerce fulfillment and micro-fulfillment, according to OPEX. Paired with the company’s proprietary Cortex software, Perfect Pick is designed to reduce a client’s reliance on labor to pick and ship orders.
OPEX said Perfect Pick is simple to operate and securely stores inventory in self-contained units while using a warehouse’s vertical space with modular, high-density racking, which increases throughput, reliability, and effectiveness.
“Our operations and customer base have been progressively expanding across Australia, Asia, and Europe,” said John Sauer, senior director of global business development of warehouse automation at OPEX. “This will be our first time exhibiting at CeMAT. We look forward to sharing our innovative warehouse automation technology that improves workflow, reduces costs and dependence on labor, and drives efficiencies in a client’s infrastructure.”
iBOTs replace conveyor systems
OPEX said its iBOTs, its fleet of autonomous robotic delivery vehicles, can access every storage location within the warehouse aisle both horizontally and vertically. They can deliver inventory directly to a workstation at the end of the aisle, eliminating the need for complicated conveyor systems or transfer equipment.
The company added the OPEX Sure Sort is a compact, scalable, configurable, and cost-effective small-item automated sorting system can that reduce the number of touchpoints associated with other sorters. OPEX said it is suitable for micro-fulfillment centers, retail stores, and distribution centers. Sure Sort is a cost-effective and accurate order-handling, cross-docking, and reverse logistics solution, claimed the company.
An alternative to traditional put wall sorting, Sure Sort increases productivity without increasing labor, said OPEX. Sure Sort iBOTs can recharge as they travel through the system, quickly and accurately processing up to 2,400 items each hour with as little as three operators.

CeMAT Australia will take place from July 19 to 21 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
