Orbbec Releases AI Aided SDK Programming Guide to Help Developers Use ChatGPT for 3D Cameras

Orbbec said its AI-Aided SDK Programming Guide for Orbbec 3D cameras simplifies and accelerates software development, enabling developers to converse with ChatGPT in natural language.

3D camera provider Orbbec yesterday unveiled an AI-Aided SDK Programming Guide for its cameras. The company claimed that it will enable software developers to easily create applications and sample code by conversing with ChatGPT in natural language.

“We're excited to announce the AI-Aided SDK guide for Orbbec 3D camera,” stated David Chen, co-founder and chief technology officer of Orbbec, in a press release.

“This new guide will help developers to create their applications easily and more efficiently than ever before,” he said. “With ChatGPT's AI assistance, developers can now focus more on their creative ideas rather than technical details.”

Shenzhen, China-based Orbbec said it has created a “full-stack platform” for 3D vision developers building products such as industrial automation for precision manufacturing, service robots, and agriculture. The company has U.S. offices in Troy, Mich.

ChatGPT enables users to state project requirements

Conventional software development kits (SDKs) have several limitations, including a steep learning curve, a documentation lag, and “untimely” technical support, asserted Orbbec. The company said its AI-Aided SDK Programming Guide addresses these challenges by using artificial intelligence to provide a natural language interface.

“Gone are the days of spending countless hours sifting through extensive documentation before developing applications,” said Orbbec. “The AI-Aided SDK Programming Guide features a well-organized API instruction for AI, which meticulously explains the functions of Orbbec SDK, enabling ChatGPT to directly learn and utilize the APIs.”

“Furthermore, a language guide for communicating with ChatGPT helps users effectively convey their project requirements, guiding ChatGPT to create the desired applications,” said the company.

The AI-Aided SDK Programming Guide also comes with 24/7 technical support and customized sample codes, said Orbbec. The new programming guide is intended to simplify and accelerate the software development process, it added.
