Plus One Robotics to Present and Give Robot Demonstrations at MODEX 2022

Plus One Robotics plans to demonstrate its software for giving vision to picking robots and supervised autonomy for a variety of warehouse tasks in Atlanta later this month.

Plus One Robotics Inc. this week said it will host live demonstrations of its PickOne vision software and Yonder supervisory software for logistics robots at MODEX 2022. In addition, Erik Nieves, CEO of Plus One, will host a seminar at the conference titled, “Humans Are the Loop – Workforce Development in the Age of Automation Hypergrowth.”

“Supply chains and warehouses have changed drastically over the last few years,” said Nieves. “There is higher demand for goods in shorter amounts of time, and warehouses and supply chains continue facing critical labor shortages.”

“Our software helps deliver precise hand-eye coordination, enabling robots to perform a wide range of warehouse tasks and streamline processes, creating efficiencies never before seen in warehouses,” he added.

Founded in 2016 by computer vision and robotics industry veterans, Plus One Robotics said it brings artificial intelligence and 3D vision to industrial robots. The San Antonio, Texas-based company said it enables hand-eye coordination for material handling in warehouses.

In addition, Plus One claimed that its novel approach to human-robot collaboration and supervised autonomy allows for fast, accurate, and scalable applications, with one person able to manage many robots simultaneously. The company, which has offices in Boulder, Colo., and the Netherlands, said its customers include Fortune 100 logistics and e-commerce leaders.

Plus One Robotics offers multiple experiences

At MODEX from March 28 to 31, Plus One Robotics plans to offer two different live demonstrations at Booth B3627 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The first will provide attendees a chance to serve as a warehouse “crew chief.” Visitors will be able to remotely control a robot in San Antonio to pick and pack from the showroom floor using the company's depalletizing system for random, mixed pallets.

A second full-scale in-booth demo will showcase robot-to-AMR (autonomous mobile robot) picking, which focuses on automation of distribution and fulfillment operations.

Executives to discuss warehouse digitization

In addition, Nieves will speak on Monday, March 28, at 12:30 p.m. EDT at the Emerging Technologies Theater about what’s next in industrial automation. He will examine how technology is enabling digitization of the supply chain at a pace that was not possible 10 years ago.

Nieves will also focus on what warehouse operators need to do to prepare for and scale the coming robot workforce.

Crystal Parrott, chief operating officer of Plus One, will moderate a MODEX panel on Wednesday, March 20, at 2:15 p.m. on how to use “The Buyer’s Journey to Overcome Obstacles in Materials Handling Automation” in Theater H.
