Rainbow Robotics Showcases Cobot Arms at Automate 2023 as Part of North American Expansion

Rainbow Robotics is in Detroit this week with its lineup of affordable collaborative robot arms. It has signed a distributor agreement with Cascara Robotics.

After opening a U.S. branch in Schaumburg, Ill., in April, South Korea-based Rainbow Robotics is show five models of its RB Cobot Series at Automate this week.

Rainbow Robotics said its RB series of cobots are made up of actuators, encoders, brakes, and controllers, all of which the company has developed by itself. As a result, the company claimed it has been able to cut the production cost by approximately 50% and gain a significant price advantage over its competitors.

The company has been gearing up to expand its presence in North America for quite some time, and said it recently obtained all the necessary certifications to begin selling in U.S. and Canada. Rainbow Robotics has been awarded the US NRTL and CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certifications by the global certification body TÜV SÜD. (CSA Z434:2014, UL 1740:2018/R:2020-11, NFPA79:2021)

In addition to looking to bring on new customers, Rainbow Robotics said it is hoping to attract potential employees at the show.

Rainbow Robotics signs agreements

Rainbow Robotics noted it has signed a distributorship agreement with Cascara Robotics, a robotic automation solutions provider headquartered in Pontiac, Michigan, USA for the sales and supply of its cobots. It added that it has also entered into strategic partnerships with a number of machine assembly and system integration service providers in each area, along with two dealers in the U.S. and one in Canada.

“We plan to achieve a high market share in the North American cobot markets in a short period of time with the local distributors with whom we have entered into strategic partnerships,” a spokesperson for Rainbow Robotics said.

The two sales dealers in the U.S. are DiverPrint, which possesses the technology for printing system automation development using cobots, and Wingman Cobot, a new provider of cobot services based on F&B service data, the company said. The Canadian distributor is Montreal-based Camex Machinery, an automation system provider.
