Seegrid will join a list of robot manufacturers working with systems integrator RōBEX. Seegrid’s robots are used for material handling.

As demand increases in response to labor shortages, Seegrid Corp. today announced a partnership with RōBEX, a rising systems integrator, to sell more of its autonomous mobile robots.

RōBEX is based out of Perrysburg, Ohio, and will begin offering the Seegrid Palion Lift, the Seegrid Palion Pallet Truck, and the Seegrid Palion Tow Tractor. It will also sell Seegrid’s Fleet Central enterprise software and the Fleet Geek data analytics platform.

Labor shortages push AMR adoption

The robotics integrator said it will work collaboratively with Seegrid’s expert teams to keep pace with accelerating demand for mobile automation across the supply chain.

“The ongoing labor shortage and heightened consumer demands continue to be a challenge, in turn making reliable automation solutions extremely critical to our customers’ success,” said David Griffin, Seegrid’s chief sales officer. “We are thrilled to collaborate with RōBEX to deliver on our mutual commitment of providing seamless end-to-end robotic solutions that transform the world’s supply chain.”

Founded in 2015, RōBEX specializes in industrial robot integration and has worked with ExxonMobil, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Stoneyfield Organic. It partners with several robotics manufacturers including FANUC, Mobile Industrial Robots, Plus One Robotics, and Auto Guide Mobile Robots.

“With Seegrid’s proven Palion AMRs and Fleet Central enterprise software, our customers will quickly get up and running with safe, scalable automation solutions that help them achieve higher levels of safety and productivity,” said Craig Francisco, president of RōBEX.

RōBEX also announced that it was accuired by Angeles Equity Partners.

Seegrid to unveil new AMR this month

Seegrid was founded in 2003 and is based out of Pittsburgh. The company specializes in the materials handling automation space. In addition to making AMRs, it also develops the software that powers its hardware.

Seegrid said its AMRs are powered by Seegrid IQ, its proprietary next-generation autonomy technology, which it claims offers enhanced perception and human-like awareness for safe and reliable transport of goods.

Last November, the company gave an inside look at the technology that powers its robots, claiming that it offered the only robotic lift with industry leading 3D perception.

At MODEX 2022, the company plans to unveil a new Palion Autonomous Lift Truck. It has claimed that its AMRs have driven millions of miles without any safety incidents.
