Integrating robotics software and hardware for piece picking can be challenging, so SVT Robotics Inc. has worked with RightHand Robotics Inc. to develop a prebuilt connector between SVT’s SOFTBOT Platform and the RightPick 3 item-handling robot.
“By connecting to the prebuilt standard integrations of our SOFTBOT Platform, RightHand Robotics customers who adopt the RightPick 3 system can now deploy without the need for custom integration code,” stated T.J. Fanning, vice president of sales at SVT. “Integrators offering flexible, automated piece picking will be able to connect and integrate this robust solution faster than ever before.”
SVT Robotics said SOFTBOT enables companies to easily connect and integrate their enterprise systems to any robot or automation in just hours or days. The Norfolk, Va.-based startup said its software can empower robotics users to compete in a quickly changing marketplace.
RightHand promises integrator-friendly picking
“Automation, especially robotic picking, is an essential solution to the supply chain and labor challenges warehouses are facing today,” said Leif Jentoft, co-founder and chief strategy officer at RightHand Robotics. “Our integrator-friendly solution makes deployment into the customer's facility as seamless as possible.”
Somerville, Mass.-based RightHand said its data-driven intelligent picking system can provide flexible and scalable automation. The company added that its modular RightPick suite can adapt to any picking situation, bringing predictability and reliability to order fulfillment in industries such as electronics, apparel, grocery, and pharmaceuticals.
RightPick 3, the latest generation of RightHand's suite, can rapidly pick and place thousands of SKUs of varying-sized products. The company claimed that it is “the world’s first autonomous piece-picking solution designed to be integrator-friendly.”
“The SOFTBOT Platform connector, which leverages our standard API [application programming interface], RightPick-MCP, further streamlines the process for rapid implementation of item-handling robots and will accelerate market adoption,” Jentoft said.
The companies said the combination of RightHand's flexible autonomous system combined with the pre-built standard integrations of SVT's SOFTBOT Platform “creates a powerful end-to-end solution for any business wanting to rapidly deploy piece-picking automation for a wide range of warehouse tasks.”
