Teledyne to Exhibit New Industrial Imaging Technologies at The Vision Show

Teledyne and its DALSA, e2v, FLIR, and Lumenera units will display their latest systems for machine vision and inspection at A3's The Vision Show next week.

At The Vision Show next week in Boston, Teledyne plans to showcase its latest industrial imaging technologies. The company and its DALSA, e2v, FLIR, and Lumenera business units will also participate in informational sessions at the event.

Teledyne noted that its Vision Solutions group enables its units to take advantage of one another's strengths to “provide the widest imaging technology portfolio in the world.”

The company said its products and services support the aerospace industry, as well as industrial inspection, scientific research, spectroscopy, radiography and radiotherapy, and advanced microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and semiconductor systems.

Teledyne DALSA focuses on digital imaging and semiconductors, and e2v provides radio frequency and healthcare systems. FLIR sells thermal cameras, while Lumenera develops and manufactures imaging devices for industrial, scientific, and surveillance applications.

Teledyne to show new products

At Booth 227 in the Hynes Convention Center, Waterloo, Ontario-based Teledyne said it will display the following technologies:

  • AxCIS, a new high-speed and high-resolution fully integrated line-scan contact image sensor for tight spaces
  • Optimom, a new 2M turnkey MIPI (mobile industry processor interface) optical module for instant integration into embedded vision systems
  • Forge, a next-generation 5 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) platform that Teledyne claimed is the first area-scan camera to use the combined customer knowledge and technical expertise from Teledyne FLIR, DALSA, and Lumenera. It is designed to offer the richest combination of features on the market, it said.
  • Falcon4-CLHS M6200 and M8200 models based on Teledyne e2v’s Emerald 37M and 67M sensors. The company said the new models are easy to use and are engineered for applications requiring high-speed data transfer up to thousands of FPS (frames per second) in either partial scan mode or Multi-ROI mode.
  • Z-Trak2, a ;high-performance 3D profiler sensor for inline measurement and inspection applications
  • Hydra3D, a high-resolution, multi-tap, time-of-flight image sensor

In addition, Teledyne said it has expanded its Genie Nano portfolio with new 10GigE cameras, including the “industry's smallest 67 MP [magapixel] camera for high-performance image capture.”

The company claimed that it has built “the industry’s largest and most diverse area-scan camera portfolio. Teledyne said it offers access with a single software development kit (SDK) and will conduct a live demonstration at The Vision Show.

Product and application specialists will be available at Teledyne's booth to demonstrate its new products and discuss company-specific requirements.

Sessions at The Vision Show

Stephen Se, senior director and senior research manager at Teledyne FLIR, will present a session on “How to Build Compact, Lightweight and Affordable Depth Perception and Object Detection for Robotic Guidance and Situational Awareness.” It will be at 10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 11, in Room 103.

Dale Deering, senior director of business development at Teledyne DALSA, will present a Certified Vision Professional (CVP) course on “Designing Line-Scan Vision Systems.” It will be at 1:30 p.m ET on Oct. 11 in Room 101.

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) is presenting The Vision Show, which is co-located with AMR and Logistics Week. The events run from Monday, Oct. 10, through Friday, Oct. 14.
