ONDEX Automation acquires Vision and Control Systems (VCS)

ONDEX Automation acquired VCS to to accelerate machine vision growth.

ONDEX Automation, a Chicago-based discrete and process automation systems integrator dedicated to empowering North American manufacturers with innovative automation offerings, announced the acquisition of Vision and Control Systems (VCS), a factory automation systems integrator specializing in machine vision.

This is ONDEX’s fourth acquisition since April 2024, which the company said strengthens its expertise in machine vision, barcode reading, robotic technologies, motion control, and PLC programming.

VCS integration capabilities with robotics and automation

Founded in 2011 with locations in Springfield, NJ, and Greenville, SC, ONDEX said VCS is known for delivering advanced, integrated machine vision offerings that combine mechanical, electrical and software expertise.

“VCS has grown rapidly in recent years, driven by rising demand for advanced vision solutions,” said Brad Steele, founder and president of VCS. “As our projects and customer base expand globally, we found a partner to help us scale faster and support larger opportunities. ONDEX provides the resources, talent, and capabilities to take our growth to the next level.”

ONDEX said in a release that VCS’ systems solve complex automation challenges for leading organizations across medical devices, life sciences, food & beverage, consumer packaged goods, logistics, and general industrial markets.
