A new LED-based safety communication system for high-speed dock doors enhances safety in multiple ways, explained Jon Schumacher, director of marketing at Rite-Hite Doors (Booth 1747).

“The newest component is the LED Virtual Vision red strip light communication system, which is motion sensor based to alert employees,” he said. “If a door is closed, the system flashes to alert personnel on each side that someone or something is on the other side.”

The sensors are adjustable, allowing coverage of up to 10 feet on either side of the door. The other components include the LED Countdown device that lets workers know exactly how much time remains before a high-speed door closes. Also offered, the LED Pre-Announce notifies workers when a door is about to close by flashing amber, then turning red while the door is moving.

“All three communication devices are compatible with our FasTrax High-Speed Doors, as well as other makes and models,” Schumacher said.

Modex 2016 is scheduled to be held April 4-7, 2016 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Conference Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex coverage.
