Toyota merges Bastian Solutions and viastore North America

Bastian Solutions

Viastore’s North American operations, offering pallet material handling systems, are now a part of Bastian Solutions automation integration.

Global supply chain integration services provider Bastian Solutions recently announced the merger of viastore North America into its operations. Both are Toyota Automated Logistics companies.

Operating under the unified Bastian Solutions name, the combined companies said this milestone marks a significant step in its growth journey as part of Toyota Automated Logistics.

By combining the strengths of both organizations, the merger aims to create new opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and growth, delivering even more comprehensive automation systems to customers.

Viastore North America, now Bastian Solutions' pallet automation team, will continue to work out of their Grand Rapids, Michigan office and Bastian Solutions' local regional sales and support office has relocated to the same facility.

Bastian Solutions and viastore North America recently demonstrated automated storage and retrieval (ASRS) pallet handling and other material handling systems at Bastian’s ProMat 2025 booths. The trade show was held March 17-20 in Chicago, Ill.

Automation integration for supply chain logistics

This merger brings together Bastian Solutions’ knowledge in systems integration and viastore’s specialization in automated pallet handling technologies.

Logistics customers will now have access to a broader portfolio of products and technologies, which the company said will enhance their ability to optimize their supply chains.

“Uniting viastore’s North American operations under the Bastian Solutions brand allows us to better serve our customers with a comprehensive range of automation solutions,” said Ariel Oliveira, viastore North America president. “The combination of our advanced pallet handling expertise with Bastian’s robust systems integration capabilities enables us to deliver unmatched value and service.”

Combined presence at ProMat 2025

At ProMat, Bastian Solutions and viastore North America debuted as one operation, showcasing a range of automation systems at Bastian’s booths.

The companies demonstrated case and pallet handling technology, including an integrated mini-system featuring AutoStore, Tompkins Robotics t-sort parcel sortation system, Sealed Air autobagger, as well as demonstrations of viastore’s ChannelCar Pallet system, and Exotec’s Skypod case-handling system

Bastian Solutions also shared customer success stories, inviting attendees to discover how brands like Puma, Americold, and Denso are using automation to scale operations without expanding their footprint, tackle labor shortages, and ensure precise, on-time fulfillment.

Toyota’s vision for Automated Logistics Group

Toyota Industries Corporation's (TICO) said the merger of viastore’s North American operations into Bastian Solutions marks another strategic milestone in its vision for Toyota Automated Logistics Group (TALG), which unites Toyota’s subsidiaries Toyota Logistics & Forklift, Bastian Solutions, Vanderlande, and viastore.

By leveraging the synergies between these organizations, Toyota said it can drive growth and deliver high-value systems that can enhance efficiency and help meet the evolving needs of its customers worldwide.

“We are committed to supporting our customers’ goals by providing expanded technologies and expertise,” said Aaron Jones, Bastian Solutions president & CEO. “This is an exciting opportunity to evolve and grow together as one team while also supporting the larger goals of TICO and TALG - deliver exceptional service and innovative automation systems anywhere in the world and across every industry.”
