Addverb Technologies Pvt., which provides distribution center and warehouse automation, today announced the opening of a new Center of Excellence for Advanced Robotics Research and Development in Fremont, Calif. The Silicon Valley center will focus on developing platforms for mobile robots, as well as advanced algorithms for human-machine collaboration and biomedical robotics.
Overseeing the center's operation is Tapan Pattnayak, whom Addverb named director of system architecture in April 2022. Pattnayak brings product development experience from Google, NVIDIA, and Intel to build an R&D team in the Bay Area under the leadership of Mark Messina, CEO of Addverb Technologies USA Inc.
“This is an exciting time for Addverb as we continue to grow our presence in the United States and build on our strong foundation of innovative products and solutions,” stated Pattnayak. “The new advanced robotics research and development facility will enable us to serve our customers better in the Americas and continue to develop the next generation of robotic technologies.”
R&D center to benefit from Silicon Valley location
Noida, India-based Addverb announced its explansion plans for the Americas this spring after obtaining $132 million in Series B funding. The company said its 3,000-sq.-ft. R&D center will house a team of engineers focused on developing new products and technologies for its porfolio, which includes automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
In addition to attracting tomorrow's pioneers in logistics automation and industrial robotics, Addverb said the new the center creates additional opportunities for it to collaborate with the Association of Advancing Automation (A3). The company said it looks forward to working with the leading global trade association for the automated manufacturing and robotics industries, as well as with its new neighbors.

Addverb advances Americas expansion
In addition to its Advanced Robotics Research and Development Center, Addverb announced the opening of its U.S. headquarters in Irvine, Calif. The new corporate office in Southern California is home to the company's project management, implementation, sales, marketing, human resources, and customer-support functions.
Addverb said its continued expansion into the U.S. is a key part of its growth strategy. It also has subsidiaries in Australia, Asia, and Europe.
Last month, Addverb announced its SortIE 3D sorter shuttle system, and it also launched the Medius multi-level carton shuttle system for fulfillment.
The new facility will allow the company to provide both on-site and online client support. Addverb said it currently has more than 100 customers, including Reliance, Unilever, Flipkart, Coca-Cola, Pepsico, Johnson & Johnson, and PAR Pharmaceutical.
