MODEX 2026: Drone as a Service showcases AI-powered drones for warehouse operations

Drone as a Service

Drone as a Service highlighted its IQ Nano warehouse drone at MODEX 2026.

At MODEX 2026, Drone as a Service, a subsidiary of ZenaTech, showcased its advanced AI-powered indoor drone technology that the company said is designed to improve speed, accuracy and safety in warehouse operations.

Drone as a Service said that the core of its offering is the ZenaDrone IQ Nano indoor drone, which the company describes as a compact, agile drone purpose-built for indoor warehouse environments.

Powered by the IQ Nano, Drone as a Service said that it transforms inventory management with automated barcode scanning, warehouse mapping, inspections and real-time security monitoring.

Drone as a Service said that the ZenaDrone IQ Nano is equipped with 4K cameras, barcode/QR scanning technology, and obstacle avoidance. The company said that its data flow can also be seamlessly integrated into existing warehouse management systems. Once deployed, Drone as  a Service said that it utilizes onboard AI to deliver real-time data and reduce manual workload. After each flight, the IQ Nano will return autonomously to its docking station to recharge.

“Traditional methods of conducting inventory management are often time-consuming, labor-intensive, hazardous, and don’t always deliver the accurate and real-time data needed to support your operations,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO of ZenaTech. “With Drone as a Service, we automate these routine tasks through flexible pay-per-use or subscription models so businesses can benefit from the added safety, efficiency and speed drones provide, while avoiding the capital costs and maintenance of drone ownership.”

With the IQ Nano, Drone as a Service said that it can offer various services to support warehouse operations, including:

  • Inventory management: Drones - including swarms of drones working independently - can quickly and easily scan inventory at heights unsafe for human workers.
  • Warehouse mapping: Drone scanning technology can provide businesses with centimeter-level maps of warehouses to plan workspace layouts efficiently.
  • Inspections: High-resolution drone cameras excel at inspecting the condition of warehouses, from floor to ceiling.
  • Operation monitoring: Drone intelligence enables operations to analyze and improve workflow and safety compliance.
  • Security: Drone video is ideal for monitoring warehouse security.

Drone as a Service also offers roof inspections.
