OTTO Motors Launches Autonomous Mobile Robots in Europe at LogiMAT 2023

OTTO Motors

OTTO Motors is now offering mobile robots in Europe through its partner network.

Among the first announcements at LogiMAT 2023 in Stuttgart, Germany, was OTTO Motors' formal expansion into the European market. The unit of Kitchener, Ontario-based Clearpath Robotics Inc. said it is already a leading provider of autonomous mobile robots, or AMRs, in North America.

“OTTO Motors leads the material handling automation industry in North America with the world’s most comprehensive AMR portfolio and the largest AMR deployments with the deepest integrations globally,” claimed Matt Rendall, co-founder and CEO of OTTO Motors.

“We’re expanding our unmatched expertise and experience into the European market to better serve our global customer base and improve material handling operations worldwide,” he added.

OTTO Motors makes millions of AMR deliveries

With more than 14 years of robotics experience, OTTO Motors said it "is solving labor and safety challenges with its established AMR fleet at manufacturing facilities and warehouses globally." The company said that it has been recognized as a top 10 global robotics provider and that its AMRs and award-winning software are designed to improve the productivity and efficiency of materials handling operations.

OTTO Motors claimed that it has more than 15 million autonomous deliveries in the past year across more than 200 facility installations around the world. The company said that it has over 4 million hours of driving experience and that global brands trust it for mission-critical deliveries.

For instance, GE Aerospace saved $1.3 million in the first year, while Faurecia Interior Systems achieved an 11-month return on investment (ROI), said OTTO Motors. Mauser Packaging Solutions increased throughput by over 600% (see video below), and Danfoss removed over 70,000 manual touches annually, it stated.

OTTO Motors asserted that it was the first AMR provider to support the German VDA 5050 interoperability standard. Yesterday, it announced a collaboration with Kollmorgen, a maker of automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

European expansion under way

OTTO Motors said its AMRs are already helping customers in Europe improve productivity through its OTTO Certified Network. It said it selects each experienced manufacturing organization through a rigorous evaluation process.

The company said it certifies and trains its partners to develop, deploy, and service OTTO Motors systems from end to end. OTTO-certified partners, such as Guidance Automation Ltd. are helping support the growing European market, said OTTO Motors.

“As demand for AMRs rapidly increases, we’re proud to be part of the OTTO Motors Partner Network and offer the world’s leading material handling solutions to improve productivity, safety, and efficiency for our customers across Europe,” said Dr. Paul Rivers, managing director of Guidance Automation.

“With over 30 years in the industry, our customers come to us for our experience, credibility, and expertise," he said. "We’re committed to partnering with organizations that also leverage cutting edge, yet mature automation technology to optimize business operations.”

LogiMAT attendees can see OTTO Motors' AMRs in action at Booth 1OG02 from April 25 to 27 in Stuttgart, Germany.

OTTO Motors recently released its OTTO 600 AMR and new software for materials handling.
