At ProMat 2025 in Chicago, Schneider Electric released TeSys Deca Advanced (shown above), a contactor offering designed to revolutionize motor management in the era of Industry 4.0, and Modicon Edge I/O NTS, a future-ready Input/Output (I/O) system for data aggregation.
Schneider Electric, a global provider of digital transformation for energy management and automation, announced the launch of Modicon Edge I/O NTS and TeSys Deca Advanced at ProMat 2025 in Booth S659.
The company said Modicon Edge I/O NTS is a future-ready Input/Output (I/O) system for data aggregation, and TeSys Deca Advanced is a contactor offering designed to revolutionize motor management in the era of Industry 4.0.
The trade show will be held March 17-20 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Ill.
Modicon Edge I/O NTS is the latest distributed IP20 I/O system from Schneider Electric, allowing customers to meet the needs of a variety of applications ranging from simple to the most demanding. All within a single I/O family, these applications include those in the production machinery, discrete manufacturing and continuous process industries. Machine builders, system integrators, and industrial end users can use the new Modicon Edge I/O NTS across many industries segments, including machinery; packaging; food & beverage; life sciences; water/wastewater; mining, minerals & metals; critical infrastructure; data centers; and energy & chemicals.
Designed with the future in mind, Modicon Edge I/O NTS meets customers’ current needs for industrial I/O applications while preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow thanks to the system’s flexibility. Using open Ethernet protocols to deliver connectivity to a variety of devices and architectures, Edge I/O NTS embeds data intelligence in the latest technologies to deliver better performance, availability and cybersecurity.
As internal communication of Edge I/O NTS OPC UA technology is used that enables secure communication and interoperability of the various Ethernet protocols. With this technology Schneider Electric lays, the foundation of a new generation of connected products based on industrial networks for Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
“Edge I/O NTS not only provides a very strong and superior catalog for I/O for our customers to build their solutions today, but it also prepares them for the future,” said Grant Van Hemert, US senior offer manager, digital factory at Schneider Electric. “Customers are more prepared for advancing digitization, ensuring better and transparent data management, and adapting to the future of Industry 4.0.”
With the Modicon Edge I/O NTS, machine builders, system integrators and industrial end users can expect to:
Designed with a streamlined wiring system and advanced digital capabilities for a range of industrial applications, Schneider Electric said the TeSys Deca advanced stands out with its wide-band coil technology, capable of accepting control voltage inputs from 24V to 500V AC/DC. This feature not only withstands voltage fluctuations but also minimizes energy consumption, resulting in reduced CO2 emissions and operational costs.
“Innovation is essential in the design of material handling, packaging, and logistics machinery as OEMs strive to meet the rapidly changing demands of this expanding industry," said Antonio Di Vaira, SVP of power products NAM Hub at Schneider Electric. "With the new TeSys Deca Advanced, we're excited to help machine builders optimize their solutions, reducing space and energy requirements. It's all about pairing advanced digital capabilities with operational simplicity, making their work easier and more efficient.”
TeSys Deca Advanced simplifies installation and maintenance processes. Its ergonomic three-layer setup organizes wiring for optimal visibility and accessibility, making maintenance and troubleshooting easier and more convenient. With one-click connection technology, Schneider Electric said installation efforts are reduced by up to 75%, allowing for rapid deployment in critical environments where uptime is essential. Additionally, the wide-band coil technology reduces complexity in selection and inventory management, facilitating smoother operations.
TeSys Deca Advanced is engineered for reliability, having undergone rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance. Its robust 100 kA short-circuit current rating with circuit breakers provides much needed flexibility for machine builders in their designs.
