Rocrich AGV Solutions, a joint venture of Jungheinrich and Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas, is staffing up to support a comprehensive suite of supply chain automation.

Jungheinrich and Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas Inc. today announced the successful launch of the Rocrich AGV Solutions. The companies said the joint venture strengthens and expands on their existing partnership, with more than 570 Logisnext dealer locations across North America.

Rocrich will offer automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for factories and warehouses, as well as “the industry's best service promise with leading local and regional coverage,” said Jungheinrich and Logisnext. They initially announced the joint venture in June.

“Today marks an exciting achievement as our strategic vision becomes a reality, launching Rocrich into its operational journey,” said Brian Spradlin, president of Rocrich. “This moment highlights our dedication and drive to reshape the material handling industry through innovative mobile automation solutions.”

Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas hosts startup

Rocrich is located at Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas' headquarters in Houston, with a dedicated operations team based in Marengo, Ill. Logisnext said it also supports Rocrich's operations with its established dealer network throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Logisnext said it is a leading manufacturer of scalable systems for automated materials handling, with extensive fleet support. The company's portfolio includes five brands: Mitsubishi forklift trucks, Cat lift trucks, Rocla AGV Solutions, UniCarriers Forklifts, and Jungheinrich warehouse and automation products.

Järvenpää, Finland-based Rocla AGV Solutions has more than 40 years of experience, has an extensive dealer network for support, and operates globally, it said. Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan-based Mitsubishi Logisnext Co.

Jungheinrich shares logistics experience

Jungheinrich and Logisnext said Rocrich's strategic offering within the North American market will build on Rocla's and Jungheinrich's automation expertise in automation. The partners said they expect a continuous stream of innovative products.

Hamburg, Germany-based Jungheinrich said it has provided intralogistics systems for 70 years. The family business said its innovative and sustainable products for material flows will create “the warehouse of the future.”

In fiscal year 2022, Jungheinrich said its workforce of about 20,000 employees generated revenue of €4.76 billion ($5.08 billion U.S.). The company's global network includes 12 production plants and service and sales companies in 42 countries.

Rocrich to ramp up and hire

“Through Rocrich, customers and industry partners now have access to a comprehensive suite of mobile automation and robotics solutions,” said the partners. These include major customer use cases, such as standard and special-purpose AGVs, plus automated forklifts.

Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas and Jungheinrich's said Rocrich will ramp up operations starting this month, reflecting their commitment to drive next-generation logistics.

The joint venture said it anticipates “significant” hiring across sales, commissioning, installation, and aftersales to further enhance its workforce and meet growing operational demands.

More than a forklift manufacturer, Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas said it is a total solutions provider, offering scalable products and services from material handling and automated guided vehicles to extensive forklift fleet support.
