Christopher Visnic (left) and Li Wu (right) have joined inventory intelligence drone provider Gather AI as the head of sales and head of finance, respectively.

Pittsburgh, Pa.-based inventory intelligence systems provider Gather AI recently announced Christopher Visnic has become head of sales and Li Wu has been named head of finance.

“Today marks a significant expansion of Gather AI’s commercial and leadership team as we welcome Christopher Visnic and Li Wu,” said Sankalp Arora, Gather AI CEO & co-founder. “They each have a results-driven approach to go-to-market strategies and have made important contributions to supply chain and AI companies, Seegrid Corporation, Armada.ai, and others.”

Visnic and Wu join other recent hires at Gather AI, including CTO Andrew Hoffman, founding engineer of Kiva Systems, and head of marketing Larisa Summers, former CMO of Optoro. Arora said the addition of Visnic and Wu are helping the company solidify its leadership team with supply chain expertise.

“We’re excited for 2025 and beyond, as we continue to bring the most advanced and seamless inventory intelligence to our customers,” Arora added.

Visnic holds B.S., M.S. from Carnegie Mellon

Visnic has successfully led the commercial growth of early-stage companies, specifically those developing and utilizing machine learning (ML) automation and computer-aided engineering software. At Seegrid Corporation, an autonomous material handling equipment company, he led the commercial business and grew revenue from ~$5M to over $70M with profitability in a five-year period.

Visnic has also held leadership positions at Autodesk, IQity Solutions, Ciespace Corporation, Ansys Corporation, and HDS Global. He holds two degrees from Carnegie Mellon University: a B.S. in civil engineering and a M.S. in structural and computational mechanics. He is married with three children and lives in the Pittsburgh area.

Wu brings B2B, SaaS, AI experience

With over a decade of experience in advising and scaling technology startups as CFO, Wu has led high-growth companies across the payments, B2B SaaS, and AI sectors, including Armada.ai, Frameplay, and AcmeTicketing. His expertise spans strategic financial leadership, driving growth and profitability, and fostering innovation in dynamic environments.

Earlier in his career, Wu held senior finance roles at PayPal and KPMG, where he led teams and managed operations across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Wu earned a Bachelor’s of computer engineering and a Master’s of commerce from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He is currently based in San Francisco.

Gather AI drones collect data for DoD, 3PL, manufacturing

Gather AI offers real-time inventory intelligence systems that can help reduce human error and shrink, increase facility throughput, and improve accuracy with automated data collection and AI-based insights.

Gather AI’s computer vision technology enables drones to fly autonomously through warehouses with no GPS, WiFi, or infrastructure changes needed.

Its ML algorithm analyzes inventory pictures, reading and interpreting barcodes, lot codes, text, expiration dates, case counts, and occupancy information. Gather AI said its customers typically see an ROI of 3-5x, driven by up to 70% reduction in inventory errors.

The company was founded by Carnegie Mellon graduates who co-invented a guaranteed safe autonomous helicopter for the U.S. Department of Defense.

Gather AI’s systems are currently deployed in warehouses across 3PL, retail distribution, manufacturing, food & beverage, and air cargo at companies including GEODIS, NFI Industries, Barrett Distribution, Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), and more.
