Supply chain systems integrator Tompkins Solutions recently announced a partnership with Soft Robotics to deploy AI-enabled no-code robots for logistics operation. The companies said their collaboration will deliver Soft Robotics’ mGripAI robot arms to logistics operations around the world, enabling them to address ongoing supply chain issues and optimize order fulfillment.
“We’re excited to team up with Soft Robotics to bring this proven technology to the logistics industry,” said David Latona, CEO of Tompkins Solutions. “As supply chains continue to face complex challenges and disruptions, AI-enabled solutions like mGripAI will play a critical role in helping companies increase efficiency, reduce costs and meet growing demands.”
Soft Robotics announced its intentions to expand outside food handling in May 2022, looking to offer robots for e-commerce, consumer goods, and logistics applications.
Tompkins Solutions will showcase mGripAI at MODEX 2024 in booth A11323. The trade show will be held March 11-14 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.
Soft Robotics expands offerings outside food industry
Initially introduced to the food industry, Soft Robotics’ mGripAI industrial robot arms incorporate AI-enabled 3D machine vision software and soft-grasping robot arms to perform high-speed picking, sortation, and packaging. The company specializes in sortation and packaging of meats and proteins, produce, and baked goods.
“After experiencing overwhelming success in the food industry, we’re now delighted to apply our no-code robotic picking and inspection solutions to applications across a variety of new industries,” said Mark Chiappetta, CEO of Soft Robotics. “We look forward to partnering with Tompkins Solutions to help organizations optimize their supply chain operations and gain a competitive advantage.”
Soft Robotics said its AI-enabled robots can replicate the sensory, cognitive, and dexterous abilities of human workers, allowing warehouse operations to automate labor-intensive processes while increasing productivity and capacity.
