Roboteon expands fleet management and orchestration capabilities for unified material flows

Roboteon's Robotics Fulfillment & Orchestration Platform manages all robotic resources across robot types and vendors, optimizes material flow and gaines complete real-time operational visibility.

Intelligent warehouse and manufacturing robotics software provider Roboteon announced an expanded set of capabilities for its Robotics Fulfillment & Orchestration Platform that serves as the digital nervous system that enables manufacturers to integrate, synchronize, orchestrate and optimize automated materials flows on the shop floor.

The company said that its unified platform manages all robotic resources across robot types and vendors, optimizes material flow and enables users to gain complete real-time operational visibility.

Material handling robotics expand

Roboteon said that there’s a new era in terms of materials handling robotics, with a growing array of AMRs and AGVs in use across industries.

However, the company said that manufacturers deploying AMRs, AGVs and other material handling automation systems face many challenges, including:

  • The use of inflexible, hard-coded integrations that take too long, and are difficult to maintain and change
  • Difficulty managing fleets of different types of robots and from different vendors
  • An inability to optimize complex materials flows

“Roboteon has crafted a powerful solution for manufacturing that delivers the capabilities needed for integration, orchestration and optimization of mobile robotics with maximum flexibility over time,” said Raj Sengutuvan, SVP of Product for Roboteon.

Robotics Fulfillment and Orchestration for manufacturers

The company said that it offers the broadest and deepest set of capabilities in the robotics fulfillment and orchestration software sector. Roboteon provided the following manufacturing functionality details for its platform:

  • Rapid, flexible integrations with ERP, WMS, MES and other software systems
  • Vendor-independent fleet management allows users to control all the robots (AMRs, AGVs, forklifts & more) from a single unified platform, regardless of the type or vendor
  • Broad portfolio of pre-built applications, including:
    • Line or cell replenishment
    • WIP (work in progress) management between stations
    • Piece/case/pallet picking
    • Finished goods transport to packaging and shipping
    • And more…
  • Intelligent task assignment by AI-powered algorithms that dynamically assign tasks based on real-time demand, priority, robot availability and location
  • Real-time visibility and tracking, allowing users to monitor the precise location and status of materials, robots from all vendors and personnel on a single platform
  • Optimized path planning calculates the most efficient routes for material transport, minimizing travel time and managing congestion.

Roboteon added that its platform has also achieved Certified Integration with SAP EWM and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
