SiMa.ai & AverMedia combined for an integrated physical AI offering for drones.
Physical AI company SiMa.ai and global application-ready edge AI provider AVerMedia showcased a production-ready hardware offering at a drone seminar in Taipei, Taiwan.
The companies said that the platform is designed to accelerate deployment for drone applications.
By combining SiMa.ai’s Modalix MLSoC with AVerMedia’s industrial-grade platform, the companies said it delivers 50 TOPS of AI compute under 10W, providing high levels of performance-per-watt while meeting the strict Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) requirements of drone applications.
"Physical AI applications require more than raw AI performance, they demand efficient compute, low power consumption, robust software, and production-ready hardware," said Liran Bar, vice president of strategic sales at SiMa.ai. "Together with AVerMedia, we're providing customers with an integrated drone AI solution that dramatically shortens the path from AI development to commercial deployment."
By eliminating complex hardware integration, the companies said that developers can significantly reduce development time and accelerate product commercialization. The offering delivers performance-per-watt efficiency for sophisticated mission-critical workloads in lightweight form factors.
SiMa.ai and AVerMedia said that this simplifies AI deployment and the path from prototype to production.
"Customers are looking for solutions that reduce engineering complexity and accelerate product launches," said Alex Liu, VP at AVerMedia. "By combining AVerMedia's industrial embedded hardware with SiMa.ai's Physical AI technology, we're enabling developers to focus on innovation rather than system integration."
Complementing the production-ready hardware offering is SiMa.ai's Palette Neat development environment. The companies said that this environment enables developers to dramatically accelerate physical AI application development. By combining pre-optimized AI pipelines, reusable application components and an intuitive development environment, SiMa.ai and AVerMedia said that Palette Neat reduces development cycles from weeks or months to hours or days, allowing OEMs to bring innovative drone platforms to market significantly faster.
