Automate 2026: Orbbec brings AI-powered vision offerings to address industrial automation challenges

Orbbec

Orbbec's booth at Automate 2026 in Chicago featured demos of its AI-powered depth perception technology.

Orbbec, a provider of robotics and 3D vision, showcased its latest 3D vision products and technologies to accelerate industrial automation at Automate 2026 in Chicago.

The company said that to meet the industry’s surging demand for perception-driven intelligent automation and robotics, Orbbec presents an advanced portfolio of industrial-grade 3D vision cameras tailored for challenging scenarios at Automate 2026, alongside integrated AI technologies that are designed to enhance robotic perception capabilities.

AI-enhanced 3D vision, LingBoth-Depth add edge AI capabilities

As industrial vision increasingly converges with edge AI, Orbbec said that it is showcasing an industry-leading, hardware-software integrated offering that combines high-precision 3D vision hardware with an advanced AI model. The company stated that this powerful combination further enhances robots’ spatial perception and environmental understanding, enabling them to overcome sensing challenges in complex industrial scenarios.

Orbbec said that to solve common automation bottlenecks where traditional 3D vision hardware often struggles with transparent objects, low-texture or repetitive-pattern surfaces (such as white walls and fences), and highly reflective materials, it has partnered with Robbyant (Ant Group) to introduce the LingBot-Depth for Gemini 330 Series (referred to below as "LingBot Enhanced Depth Filter"), delivering the following performance breakthroughs:

  • Empowering large models & robotic applications: Trained with the chip-level, high-precision data from Orbbec's Gemini 330 series as the standard input, LingBot Enhanced Depth Filter integrates seamlessly with Robbyant’s in-house Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. Orbbec said that Robbyant has demonstrated that incorporating high-quality depth data directly into the large models significantly enhances a robot's manipulation capabilities and operational success rates.
  • Flexible dual-mode inference & NVIDIA Jetson optimization: Orbbec said that LingBot Enhanced Depth Filter is compatible with passive stereo inputs and achieves optimal performance when utilizing the active stereo input of the Gemini 330 series cameras. Fully compatible with NVIDIA Jetson Orin platforms, it can be extended via Orbbec’s SDK and uses NVIDIA CUDA and TensorRT for accelerated AI inference, enabling real-time edge inference for depth hole filling, noise removal and edge refinement.
  • Enhanced reliability for target applications: By delivering a dependable sense of space, Orbbec said that LingBot Enhanced Depth Filter supports reliable edge-based perception for demanding industrial tasks, including carton edge tracking in logistics, reflective metal alignment in assembly, and transparent vessel handling in lab automation.

Industrial-grade cameras & technologies to empower industrial automation

To address key industrial challenges in precision assembly, dynamic warehousing and vibration-heavy environments, Orbbec will also present a series of live demonstrations for demanding industrial applications at Automate 2026, including.

  • Customizable 3D DLP Camera - High precision 3D reconstruction: Designed for demanding industrial assembly and inspection, Orbbec showcases its customizable 3D DLP structured light camera, delivering approximately 0.07 mm VDI/VDE accuracy and 0.05 mm Z-repeatability at 0.5 m. Featuring a compact, lightweight form factor optimized for robotic arm integration, the camera outputs high-resolution RGB data to support AI-driven object detection and deep learning. Additionally, the company said that it offers adaptive multi-mode capture, including Fast, High-Reflectivity and Accurate modes, to balance high-speed capture with precise 3D reconstruction across complex industrial scenarios.
  • Gemini 435Le - High-performance logistics automation: For industrial logistics scenarios, Orbbec demonstrates a live forklift automation solution powered by its latest industrial-grade stereo 3D camera, the Gemini 435Le. By delivering low-noise, high-density depth data in dynamic environments and supporting stable localization, navigation and obstacle avoidance, the offering can reliably detect forklift forks and ground-level obstacles, improving both operational safety and efficiency.
