AutoStore’s CarouselAI can pick and place items directly from bins and places - not drops - them with precision and speed.

Automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) provider AutoStore recently announced CarouselAI, an AI-powered robotic piece picking system.

Intralogistics system integrator and software provider Kardex also announced it has deployed CarouselAI for fulfillment systems provider Berkshire Grey.

CarouselAI is designed to bring automation to warehouse picking operations. AutoStore said its announcement confirms the growing need for fully automated, AI-powered robotic picking from its ASRS.

“This is not a concept or prototype - it’s a fully operational robotic item picking solution, integrated with AutoStore and Kardex FulfillX, that you can experience firsthand,” said Mitch Hayes, Kardex Solutions president. “The technology and software are already deployed, proving their reliability and performance in a warehouse environment.”

Kardex can deploy bin picking AutoStore systems quickly

At Berkshire Grey’s facility in Bedford, Mass., Kardex has integrated AutoStore and robotic item picking with its FulfillX warehouse execution system (WES). Kardex said its integration demonstrates that AI-powered bin picking is not just the future - it’s happening today.

Kardex will host an exclusive live demonstration event April 29 at Berkshire Grey’s Bedford facility, offering a hands-on look at how AI-powered robots can efficiently pick items directly from AutoStore bins and places - not drops - them with precision and speed.

Because Berkshire Grey’s CarouselAI system is already live and operational, Kardex said it is able to integrate AutoStore robotic piece picking quickly:

  • New AutoStore systems can be deployed with robotic bin picking in as little as six months.
  • Existing AutoStore users can upgrade to Kardex FulfillX to take advantage of robotic bin picking, intuitive picking assistant, and more with the company’s purpose-built WES.

Kardex invites businesses to come see and experience firsthand how robotic piece picking can streamline order fulfillment, reduce labor dependency, and drive warehouse efficiency.
