Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America (MCFA), a leading manufacturer of forklifts under the Cat lift trucks, Mitsubishi forklift trucks and Jungheinrich brands, today joined other companies and community organizations around the United States in celebration of the fourth annual Manufacturing Day.
To mark the occasion, students from Northbrook High School in Spring Branch Independent School District visited MCFA to learn more about MCFA’s manufacturing process and the wide range of available career opportunities in the industry. During the visit, participating students toured MCFA’s 800,000 square-foot campus, witnessing the various components and job roles required to build a forklift and discussing how forklifts help deliver products to consumers.
Manufacturing Day is a national event designed to build an interest in manufacturing careers among the future workforce. Finding skilled workers is a problem that many manufacturers continue to face due to the lack of knowledge and understanding of manufacturing environments.
“National Manufacturing Day is a great opportunity for MCFA and other manufacturers to showcase the importance of manufacturing and to raise awareness of the industry as a long-term career opportunity,” said Jay Gusler, vice president of operations at MCFA. “A career in manufacturing can be very rewarding, because there is a strong element of pride in seeing your work come to life.”
