Peak Technologies, a provider of digital supply chain and mobile workforce offerings, exhibited its automated supply chain products and advanced machine vision at MODEX 2024. The event included demonstrations of the company’s 2D, 3D and deep learning options in conjunction with a host of Zebra Technologies’ robots.

Peak’s technology was on display in Zebra’s EV7 & XV6 vision controllers, AltiZ 3D laser profiler and Design Assistant software in Zebra Technologies’ booth at the show.

Vision-enabled options on partner hardware

Supply chain experts at the Peak boot helped attendees discover how its offerings can help organizations become more efficient, productive and competitive. The company showed how its advanced workforce automation can help areas with productivity across of a variety of businesses, including:

  • Asset tracking & insights with RFID and RTLS
  • Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs)
  • Advanced workforce mobility
  • Mobile computers and printers
  • End-to-end managed services
  • Fixed industrial scanning & machine vision
  • Warehouse labeling & floor striping solutions
  • Peak Analytics platform with a live Scan Tunnel demo

At MODEX, Peak’s staff at the Zebra Technologies booth helped attendees discover how machine vision can automate manufacturing inspections. Attendees saw advanced 2D, 3D and deep learning options to automate their manufacturing processes and solve inspection challenges that traditional machine vision cannot.

For example, demonstrations showed:

  • Flowchart-based software for quickly building machine vision applications
  • 4Sight series of fanless or expandable vision controllers
  • High-fidelity 3D laser profile sensors boasting a dual-camera single-laser design
  • Complete set of industrial quality deep learning tools
  • Deep learning OCR tool that requires no training

Peak demonstrations at MODEX

At the show, Peak ran two machine vision demonstrations. First, it demonstrated how users can develop and deploy deep learning applications featuring Zebra Aurora Design Assistant software running on an XV6 vision controller

Second, it showcased how the Zebra AltiZ laser profiler captures 3D images used as input to Peak’ String Reader tool for real-time OCR. The combination can eliminate deep learning training and save time, according to Peak and Zebra.

“Our collaboration with Zebra Technologies during MODEX 2024 is an exciting opportunity to highlight how Peak Technologies and Zebra’s machine vision products work together to transform manufacturing operations,” said Dave Sexton, general manager of machine vision at Peak Technologies. “When using Peak machine vision solutions, customers can automate inspections using a variety of technologies including 2D & 3D sensors plus deep learning.”

Peak machine vision tools are deployed in more than 300 sites across multiple industries, including automotive, food & beverage, personal goods and pharmaceutical.
