My Jewellery B.V., a female-led, family-run business specializing in jewelry, fashion, and accessories, yesterday announced that it has installed Geekplus Technology Co.'s RoboShuttle to automate its warehouse. The Den Bosch, Netherlands-based company said the autonomous mobile robots, or AMRs, will optimize space usage and reduce walking for its staffers.

"Our business is built on high-quality products, but we can only keep that up if we continue to consider improvements for our planet, our people, and our products" said Sharon Hilgers, founder of My Jewellery, in a release.

"Sustainable solutions, like this one installed by our partner Geek+, make it possible for us to deliver jewelry to our customers in a fast and efficient way whilst, at the same time, saving energy and making the warehouse a safer place to work," she added.

My Jewellery deploys 88 robots

The fashion industry is increasingly turning to AMRs to address some of its biggest challenges, including order-picking efficiency and delivery speed in returns operations, said Geek+. As Hilgers noted, environmental sustainability is also a stated goal for the industry.

My Jewellery has deployed 22 RoboShuttle Systems and 66 P40 picking systems in its warehouse to make its workspace more ergonomic. "A good working environment inspires sparkling people," stated the company.

In addition, My Jewellery said the Geek+ AMRs will enable it to adapt to business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) operations, which was another key factor in developing this installation.

Geek+ supports 'technological transformation'

"At Geek+, we are committed to fulfilling our customer's objectives in terms of sustainability and business operations, and our project with My Jewellery is a great example of that," asserted Jan Jangbloets, head of sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Geek+. "It is important to highlight that this is the first automation project that My Jewellery is implementing at their warehouse, and for Geek+, it's a privilege to lead this technological transformation."

Founded in 2015, Geek+ said Interact Analysis has ranked it as a global leader in robotics for logistics. The Beijing-based company claimed that it has developed AMRs to realize flexible, reliable, and highly efficient automation for warehouses and supply chain management.

More than 700 businesses around the world use Geek+ systems, said the company. With U.S. offices in San Diego, Calif., the company has over 1,500 employees, as well as facilities in Germany, the U.K., Japan, South Korea, China, and Singapore.

Editor's note: Geek+ will be participating in the keynote session of the 2023 Robotics Applications Conference, presented by Robotics 24/7 and Peerless Media.

Geek+ claimed that it has reimagined warehouse operations with shelf-to-person automation.
