Geekplus Technology Co. today announced that research firm Interact Analysis has named it as a global market leader autonomous mobile robots, or AMRs, for fulfillment. U.K.-based Interact Analysis cited both the continued growth of the warehouse industry and Geek+’s dominant position in both the order-fulfillment and AMR categories.

The announcement of the new global market-share rankings from Interact Analysis placed Geek+ in the No. 1 spots for both order-fulfillment and mobile robots, marking the fifth year in a row where the company has been ranked first in AMRs.

“These rankings show that our products, led by our shelf-to-person solutions, are uniquely designed to fit retailers' needs for flexible and fast order fulfillment across the globe,” said Yong Zheng, Geek+ founder and CEO.

“Our teams develop systems designed to solve the challenges of labor scarcity and fast throughput requirements in an uncertain economy,” he added. “They accompany businesses as they grow, and require minimal initial investment. In today's uncertain economy, it's clear that mobile robots offer the best alternative to traditional automation systems.”

Mobile robots on the rise

“Our research shows the rise and rise and rise of mobile robots, led by the demand for flexible, efficient and scalable systems able to meet new industry challenges such as fast delivery, rising warehouse costs and labor scarcity and retention,” noted Ash Sharma, managing director at Interact Analysis.

“More than 100 companies are included in the ranking analysis and the ranking criteria is based purely on annual revenues from mobile robots in the prior year,” he told Robotics 24/7.

Sharma cited Geek+’s “remarkable growth,” saying the company “continues to innovate with its logistics solutions.”

He also said that the rapid growth of mobile robots echoes recent developments in use cases into areas such as materials movement and healthcare.

Geek+ brings mobile robots into the limelight

Geek+ said its No. 1 global market ranking for AMR follows recent efforts, such as the deployment of shelf-to-person mobile robots in Newegg electronics warehouses in Southern California and similar deployments for the Singapore National Day Parade.

The company added that it is keeping its focus the future of warehouse robotics. It claimed that it is always looking for new opportunities to replace fixed automation—which can offer limited functionality, especially in warehouse environments—with mobile robots.

As the need for mobile robots continues to rise, Geek+ is working with companies like Newegg and Orgill to help optimize warehouse operations, enhance deployment efficiency, and train employees on how to work safely alongside the mobile robots in the warehouse.
