Industrial battery charger provider Webasto Charging Systems Inc., recently announced its PosiCharge ProCore Edge 10 Bay charger is now available for all customers.

Industrial battery charging systems provider PosiCharge, a division of Webasto Charging Systems Inc., recently announced the expansion of its ProCore Edge line with the introduction of the ProCore Edge 10 Bay.

Formerly reserved for select key customers, the ProCore Edge 10 Bay is now available to all material handling equipment customers and other interested parties. The ProCore Edge 10 Bay is available for immediate shipping.

ProCore Edge 10 Bay charger suitable for large-scale, continuous operations

The ProCore Edge 10 Bay integrates into Webasto Charging Systems' charging systems, catering to various industrial material handling batteries of different types, brands, voltages, and sizes. Leveraging technology from the ProCore line, the Edge series features intelligent controls, a universal board, and proprietary algorithms for optimal lead acid and lithium battery performance, said Webasto.

The ProCore Edge 10 Bay is equipped with wireless BMID, delivering real-time battery data, and ensuring safe and efficient charging. The ProCore Edge's system offers multi-voltage flexibility and adaptability to any battery chemistry.

Utilizing the same app as the original ProCore series, operators can program, download data, and manage their fleet from smartphones. Remote setup, troubleshooting, and real-time monitoring capabilities enable charging management from any location.

Webasto said the ProCore Edge 10 Bay is intended for large-scale operations and facilities that require continuous charging, such as those that operate around the clock or have double shifts.

Webasto emphasizes smart load management techniques

Webasto also recently announced its plans to introduce load management techniques for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructures.

The company emphasized the role of dynamic load management within the EV charging infrastructure. By optimizing power and load distribution in real-time, factors such as surplus charging, grid peak times, and weather conditions will be integrated into the charging process. Webasto said load management can reduce strain on the power grid while enhancing the user experience.

Moreover, Webasto underscored the importance of integrating distributed energy resources (DER) grids into the EV infrastructure. Leveraging locally available capacity further enhances energy sustainability, creating a more efficient and cost-effective ecosystem, said Webasto.

“We aim to develop solutions that reduce installation costs and accelerate the convenience for EV owners,” said Michael Schoenberger, CTO and managing director of Webasto Charging Systems, Inc. “Our focus remains on leveraging advancements such as cloud-based load-balancing networks to drive widespread adoption and contribute to a greener, more sustainable transportation landscape.”

Webasto demonstrated its systems at MODEX 2024 from March 11-14 in Atlanta, GA, and also at the EV Charging Summit & Expo from March 21-22 in Las Vegas, NV.

PosiCharge, the industrial charging division of Webasto Charging Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Webasto Group, recently announced the divestment of its charging business to Transom Capital Group.
