It’s well understood that autonomous vehicles still struggle in snow. To test the capability of its autonomous trucks, Embark Trucks recently completed a series of on road tests in Montana’s snowy terrain.
The San Francisco-based company found that in “approximately 90% of runs through snowy conditions, Embark’s Vision Map Fusion system should operate successfully, or pause and resume travel within acceptable shipper delivery windows.”
Embark recently announced it is partnering with U.S. Xpress Enterprises. U.S. Xpress said it will add its terminals to the Embark Coverage Map.
