Top 10 Robots of Digital CES 2021

ITRI Dual Arm Robot System

Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) showed its Dual Arm Robot System (DARS) at CES 2021. The lightweight robot’s arms have seven axes of freedom each, and it has human-like hands.

DARS uses the Robot Operating System (ROS), making it suitable for research projects and other applications.

“DARS also features advanced sensor technologies and machine learning algorithms for maximum versatility and can perform various tasks for humans without using specifically designed tools,” said ITRI. “Its applications include healthcare, professional services, smart manufacturing, and hazardous environments.”

With more intelligence, such humanoid designs could also be key to mobile manipulation and service robots.

What were the most interesting robots of CES Direct 2021? While household, humanoid, and companion robots are staples every year, this year's virtual event showcased some promising autonomous systems.
