Inventory management robot provider Dexory recently announced a deployment partnership with information and asset lifecycle management company Iron Mountain. Dexory will deploy inventory-checking autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at four warehouses southeast of Birmingham, England.

The company will implement DexoryView as its inventory tracking system across four Iron Mountain warehouses located in Kettering Symmetry Park, Lutterworth Magna Park North, and Rugby Symmetry Park.

3PL provider turns to automated inventory management

Iron Mountain expanded into the third-party logistics (3PL) market in 2021. With over 225,000 customers worldwide, the company was looking for an automated inventory management and space optimization system for its warehouses.

Dexory offers full-service inventory control automation, which combines inventory-scanning robots and warehouse inventory analytics software, all built and maintained in-house. Its robots measure, count, track and find inventory across warehouses, navigating around obstacles and through product racks.

Collected data is pushed in real time to Dexory’s inventory management software, DexoryView. The AI-powered digital twin platform offers end-to-end visibility of warehouse inventory.

“Implementing a future-proof, innovative inventory solution is key to our warehousing strategic direction,” said Maria Torrent-March, warehousing & logistics strategy director at Iron Mountain. “Dexory’s technology enables our vision for automation and efficiency, especially where we have large rotations of stock, reducing our overall operational costs.”

AI-powered DexoryView offers end-to-end inventory visibility

Dexory said its inventory-checking AMRs will be able to scan 15,000 locations per hour, without disrupting workflow or impacting Iron Mountain’s day-to-day operations.

Through DexoryView, Iron Mountain will be able to generate full inventory visibility, track inventory movements, and analyze its pallet life cycle, which Dexory said will provide greater insights for continuous improvements across all of the sites.

“Introducing DexoryView will provide them with the ability to deliver greater efficiencies and accurate stock management,” said Oana Jinga, Dexory’s chief commercial officer.

By implementing AMRs and DexoryView, Dexory said Iron Mountain will be able to further improve its process compliance, inventory-counting accuracy, and inventory team’s response time.
