Han’s Robot to Show Updated Automated Welding Workstation at FABTECH 2023

Han's Robot built its Automated Welding Workstation around the Elfa collaborative robot.

Manufacturers use welding technology to produce a wide variety of metal goods, and FABTECH 2023 will provide an opportunity to see several demonstrations of automated welding. Han's Robot Co. will be showing its Automated Welding Workstation system in Chicago this week.

The scope of welding applications includes manufacturing of everything from automobiles and aircraft to household appliances, noted Han's Robot. The Shenzhen, China-based company said in a release that its Automated Welding Workstation (Gas Shielded Arc Welding) Application Solution is built around its Elfin-Pro collaborative robots to improve efficiency.

Han's Robot touts welding workstation features

Han's Robot said its Automated Welding Workstation (Gas Shielded Arc Welding) includes the following features:

Drag-and-drop teaching: The Elfin-Pro supports integrated end force control, allowing users to easily and swiftly drag the welding torch to the designated welding point, claimed the company. With the End button, they can quickly establish a welding task, complete circular or linear path selection, and set up arc starting or stopping. The drag-and-drop feature is reusable, said Han's Robot.

Laser vision seam tracking: The laser vision seam system corrects welding deviations in real time, maintaining the welding gun's alignment with the seam during movement and ensuring automated seam tracking for improved welding quality.

Arc tracking: An arc tracker collaborates with the robot to determine the relative position of the welding gun and groove, Han's Robot said. It collects and processes arc signals, correcting any deviations from the robot's planned path.

Easy-to-use welding plugin: Han's Robot said it provides an easy-to-install and user-friendly welding plugin with a visual interface, facilitating efficient human-machine interaction and enhancing production efficiency.

Automated Welding Workstation compatible with other systems

In addition, Han's Robot said its Automated Welding Workstation is compatible with various welding systems. They include machines from MegMeet, Aotai, Miller, Lincoln, Binzel, Fronius, EWM, Lorch, Esab, Kemppi, Panasonic, and OTC DAIHEN.

"Most importantly, human-robot collaboration safety is the top priority for Han's Robot," said the company. It said the new workstation has multiple safety functions, such as sensitive collision detection and emergency stops to ensure a secure working environment.

At FABTECH, Han's Robot will show its Automated Welding Workstation at Booth B1115 in McCormick Place from Sept. 11 to 14. The company will also exhibit high-speed handling systems, high-precision motion platforms, and CNC loading and unloading applications.

Han's Robot will also show its One-Stop Intelligent Palletizing Workstations, Elfin-Pro cobots, and STAR mobile manipulators, as well as application demonstrations, at its FABTECH booth.
