Pro Mach Inc. yesterday said it will demonstrate how its 46 brands can collaborate to develop and deliver cohesive systems at PACK EXPO next month in Las Vegas. Texwrap, Quest, and Serpa will show an integrated line featuring filled canisters being tray packed, shrink-wrapped, and palletized in a common application in the nutraceutical and food industries.

“ProMach is a solutions-based company; it first analyzes the problem or challenge, and then designs a solution that best meets the customers’ production goals,” said the company. “ProMach and its 46 brands are grouped into distinct business lines that span the entire packaging line.”

Based near Cincinnati in Covington, Ky., ProMach said its cohesive offerings serve manufacturers of all sizes and geographies. The company said its brands operate across the entire packaging spectrum: filling and capping, flexibles, product handling, labeling and coding, and end of line.

ProMach also provides including design/build and engineering services, as well as productivity software to optimize packaging line design and deliver maximum uptime. It has factories and offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, the United Arab Emirates, and China.

ProMach to demo at PACK EXPO 2023

From Sept. 11 to 13, PACK EXPO attendees can see the collaboration among Texwrap, Quest, and Serpa at Booth C-3625 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The exhibit will feature a fully operating line including a Serpa FG1 top-load tray former that will be forming trays from corrugated blanks. Serpa is built with a heavy-duty frame and quick-change forming heads to make changeover quick, simple, and repeatable for 24/7 operation, said ProMach.

From there, trays will travel on a conveyor to a Quest QP200-SA2 case packer, where FANUC articulated SCARA and articulated robots orientate, pick, and place shrink-wrapped canisters by CL&D into the awaiting trays.

Next, a Tekkra T-1030 in-line shrink-bundler system from Texwrap will wrap the trays containing 12 canisters each with film. The Tekkra T-1030 is a continuous-motion shrink bundler with a servo-driven seal bar and carriage. It is best for medium to high-speed applications, noted ProMach.

Finally, a Quest Box Bot QB320 space-saving robotic palletizer will pick up wrapped trays and place them on a floor-level pallet to complete the demonstration, explained the company.

Every Box Bot comes standard with QBox pallet-building software that allows operators to create new pallet patterns based on the size of the case and pallet. The Box Bot offers more than 24 standard designs to reduce complexity and lead times.

ProMach said projects like this show how it and its brands can develop integrated automation to meet customer needs. Customers have one central point of contact that serves as a “one-stop, full-service provider” by connecting multiple ProMach systems, it claimed.

This level of integration involves professional project management to streamline the planning, installation, and start-up of packaging lines, asserted ProMach.

About Texwrap, Quest, and Serpa

The three ProMach brands will be next to one other within the “ProMach village” at PACK EXPO 2023.

Texwrap Packaging Systems Inc., which will be at PACK EXPO Booth C-3625, holds patents on shrink-wrapping and shrink-bundling technologies. The Washington, Mo.-based unit produces automatic shrink-wrapping systems, L-bar sealers, side sealers, tunnels, infeed solutions, and conveyor systems for the food, bakery, industrial, mailing, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, retail, printing, and publishing industries.

As part of the ProMach End of Line business line, Texwrap also manufactures the Kayat and Tekkra shrink bundling systems.

At Booth C-3425, Quest Industrial LLC will show industrial automation including robotics and vision-guidance equipment. With expertise in the food, beverage, and dairy markets, the Monroe, Wis.-based company said it can optimize floor space for customers experiencing growing demand and help improve their overall productivity.

Quest also offers application-specific software for pick-and-place, case-packing, and palletizing robots to simplify system setup and streamline configurability.

Serpa Packaging Solutions will show at Booth C-3433 secondary packaging systems ranging from cartoners and case packers to robotic palletizers.

Along with other complementary equipment, the Visalia, Calif.-base ProMach unit said it can build complete end-of-line systems that can handle unique packaging specifications for a variety of markets.

Serpa said it combines the latest technology and advanced design capabilities to create equipment that is geared for easy operation, tool-less changeover, and ease of maintenance. The company said it is a trusted partner for integrated packaging systems and an authorized FANUC integrator.
