ProMat 2025: Kardex, Paccurate partner for intelligent cartonization in warehouse

Kardex Solutions and Paccurate

Kardex Solutions and Paccurate have partnered to combine Kardex's warehouse automation software offerings with Paccurate's intelligent cartonization. The companies will exhibit at ProMat 2025 in Chicago.

Kardex Solutions and Paccurate announced a strategic partnership aimed at transforming warehouse efficiency through the integration of Paccurate’s intelligent cartonization into Kardex’s FulfillX software ecosystem.

The collaboration will bring together Kardex’s expertise in warehouse automation with Paccurate’s advanced packaging optimization technology to reduce shipping costs, minimize material waste and improve overall fulfillment efficiency.

The companies will highlight their partnership at ProMat 2025. Kardex is exhibiting at Booth S3562, and Paccurate is exhibiting at Booth S3362.

The trade show will be held March 17-20 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Ill.

Optimized packaging through integration

As transportation costs continue to rise and industry focus shifts towards smarter packout offerings, the companies said this partnership delivers a cost-effective and sustainable fulfillment process for warehouse operations. By utilizing Paccurate’s dynamic cartonization API within Kardex’s Intuitive Picking Assistant and FulfillX execution software, the companies said businesses can achieve smarter, more efficient warehouse workflows.

"By integrating Paccurate’s cutting-edge cartonization technology with our warehouse automation solutions, we are empowering businesses to reduce costs and increase efficiency like never before, said Mitch Hayes, president of Kardex AutoStore. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability in warehouse execution."

The partnership is powered by a SOFTBOT API integration between Paccurate’s cartonization engine and Kardex’s FulfillX software. When an order is processed, Paccurate’s platform determines the optimal box selection and generates packing instructions in real time, considering dimensions, weight, shipping constraints and negotiated rate cards. Kardex’s Intuitive Picking Assistant and FulfillX software then provide visualization for warehouse workers at the AutoStore port, allowing for precise picking and packing.

Kardex and Paccurate said this integration enables customers to

  • Reduce void fill and optimize packaging decisions
  • Lower transportation expenses and improve sustainability efforts
  • Streamline picking and packing workflows, reducing inefficiencies and manual labor
  • Enhance the unboxing experience for end customers with consistent, right-sized packaging

"Partnering with Kardex allows us to bring cost-aware cartonization to a wider audience and make a meaningful impact on fulfillment operations,” said James Malley, CEO of Paccurate. “Together, we are solving a critical industry challenge - eliminating waste while optimizing efficiency."

Looking ahead, Kardex said plans to integrate PacSimulate, Paccurate’s simulation tool, into its consultative approach. The companies will also launch advanced cubing initiatives to optimize inbound, putaway, and AutoStore grid configurations.
