Congressional Robotics Caucus
The Congressional Robotics Caucus has re-launched under the bipartisan leadership of Bob Latta (R-OH), Jim McGovern (D-MA), Jay Obernolte (R-CA) and Haley Stevens (D-MI).
Four members of the U.S. House of Representatives have partnered to relaunch the Congressional Robotics Caucus. The bipartisan committee will be co-chaired by Bob Latta (R-OH), Jim McGovern (D-MA), Jay Obernolte (R-CA) and Haley Stevens (D-MI).
The Caucus looks to “bring Members of Congress together to discuss issues related to robotics and affecting the robotics sector,” according to a press release.
Robotics and automation have been major talking points by members of both U.S. political parties in 2025.
“Serving as Co-Chair of the Congressional Robotics Caucus for the past few years has opened my eyes to the promises and risks associated with the rise of robotics - whether enabled by artificial intelligence or not,” Rep. McGovern said. “I look forward to sharing innovative ideas with Members of the Caucus for the good of our educational institutions, manufacturers, and civil society partners nationally.”
Following the 2024 Presidential election, Association for Advancing Automation (A3) president Jeff Burnstein penned a letter to President Donald Trump in support of advancing U.S. manufacturing and automation.
“The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) is excited about the establishment of a Congressional Robotics Caucus in the 119th Congress,” A3 said in a statement about the re-launch. “We applaud the bipartisan leadership of Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA), Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH), Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), and Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA), who represent constituencies across America from coast to coast. We believe that accelerated adoption of robotics, along with enabling technologies like artificial intelligence, machine vision and motion control, will strengthen every US industry in the future. Robotics and automation are essential to bringing more manufacturing back to the US while creating better, safer and higher-paying jobs for American workers. We look forward to working with the Robotics Caucus to raise awareness among policymakers and advance this critical technology area.”
President Trump announced $500B in private sector investment for AI infrastructure in the United States in January 2025.
"As Co-Chair of the Congressional Robotics Caucus, I remain committed to ensuring the United States remains at the forefront of robotics and automation," Rep. Latta said. "By educating our colleagues, supporting research and development, and encouraging public-private partnerships, the Robotics Caucus will help to foster innovation and support a workforce ready to lead in a rapidly evolving global economy."
