Pittsburgh-based Locomation was born out of Carnegie Mellon University’s National Robotics Engineering Center. The company makes the Autonomous Relay Convoy System, which is a system that allows transportation logistics companies to retrofit their trucks to make them more autonomous.
The company was recently featured in the publication Pittsburgh Inno after the state of Pennsylvania passed a new state law that allows for the testing of autonomous vehicles on public roads. Locomation CEO said the legislation “effectively enables Locomation’s commercial deployment model to be deployed in Pennsylvania.”
