5 Autonomous Trucking Companies Hauling Along

Waymo

Waymo was born out of Google’s self driving project, which started in 2009. It became an official company under Alphabet in 2016. While people tend to focus on Waymo’s autonomous passenger vehicles, it also is building an autonomous truck technology through its Waymo Via project.

The company has been testing its technology on Class 8 Trucks and has partnered with several transportation logistics partners, including Ryder System Inc, C.H. Robinson, J.B. Hunt, Wayfair, and UPS.

Robotics companies working on autonomous trucks continue to take on new partnerships as they develop their technologies.
