Massachusetts Institute of Technology

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is widely considered to be among the most prestigious universities in all of education, especially when it comes to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The Cambridge, Mass.-based university does not have a robotics major or department, but it does offer courses in robotics and related technologies through its engineering and computer science departments.

Additionally, the university has a dedicated center for artificial intelligence (CSAIL), a biometric robotics lab, and a interactive robotics group, according to its admissions page. It also has the Edgerton Marine Robotics Team, which competes in annual competitions.
