3Laws released Supervisor for ROS, a real-time safety and runtime assurance offering designed to improve the performance, reliability and deployability of AMRs, AGVs and custom mobile robots operating in dynamic environments. Built for ROS 2–based systems and natively integrated with the Nav2 navigation stack, Supervisor for ROS provides adaptive safety guardrails that allow robots to maintain productivity while reducing collision risk in warehouses, distribution centers and manufacturing facilities. Supervisor for ROS operates as an independent safety layer positioned between a robot’s navigation stack and its low-level controllers. By continuously monitoring sensor data - including 2D lidar and 3D point clouds - the software evaluates the safety of commanded motions in real time. When potential hazards are detected, Supervisor selectively modifies control outputs to maintain safety without forcing unnecessary stops or full navigation replanning, resulting in smoother motion and improved operational uptime to increase efficiency by more than 20%. 3Laws, 3laws.io, Booth A5809
