Orbbec is highlighting a new generation of compact stereo 3D cameras purpose-built for robotic manipulation. The Gemini 305 is a stereo depth camera designed from the ground up for wrist mounting on robotic arms. At 42 mm × 42 mm × 23 mm, it fits within the tight spatial constraints of collaborative robot wrists and humanoid hands while delivering the close-range performance those applications require. Its minimum imaging distance is 4 cm, with sub-millimeter depth accuracy maintained across the full 4-100 cm operating range. The depth FOV measures 88° × 65°, and the color FOV reaches 94° × 68°, wide enough to image an 8.6 cm × 5.4 cm area at 20 cm distance. For fine manipulation tasks involving small parts or deformable objects, that combination of close-range reach and angular coverage reduces the perception blind zone that typically limits wrist-mounted cameras.
